Subtle Intricacies by Swarnim Agrawal

In Subtle Intricacies , Swarnim Agrawal reflects on what it means to write about mental health in a time when its language is widely circulated, commodified, and often simplified. Partly inspired by personal experience, the collection resists clinical coldness and instead dwells in the intimate textures of everyday life - fleeting moods, quiet insecurities, relational fractures, and moments of becoming. These poems explore how ordinary experiences carry emotional weight long before they acquire diagnostic names. Through subtle tonal shifts and lyrical vulnerability, the collection seeks conversation over categorisation, offering readers companionship, recognition, and an expanded vocabulary for mental health and human connection. ABOUT THE AUTHOR Swarnim is currently pursuing her PhD at the Amity Institute of English Studies and Research. She holds an MA in Creative Writing from the University of Exeter. Her work has appeared in journals and anthologies, and she performs at open m...
